MAJOR ROCK SLIDE IN WIRT - 100 Tons Fall Across Route 5

A large rock slide, estimated in excess of 100 tons of rock and earth, fell from this steep hillside above State Route 5 between Elizabeth and Burning Springs. The incident happened about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Road Supervisor Alvin Engelke. DOH worker's spent much of Tuesday clearing the slide. No injuries were reported.
