Douglas Allen "Doug" Broome, 54, of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia, following an extended illness.

Born November 12, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio, Doug is the son of the late Lady Joan Donley Broome.

Doug was self employed as a Completion Engineer in the oil and gas industry. He was a graduate of Brookville Area High School, Brookville, PA class of 1978. In his free time, Doug enjoyed riding motorcycles and deer hunting.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Edward A. Broome and wife Jackie of Glenville; 1 brother, Kenneth D. Broome and wife Pamela of Glenville; 1 sister, Susan Kay Leslie and husband Keven of Reading, Ohio; 5 nieces; 2 nephews; and 1 great niece.

Along with his mother, Doug was preceded in death by 1 sister, Gayle Louise Broome.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery on Route 5, west of Glenville. Family and friends will be received from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Mortuary.
