Earless E. Gibson Cowan, 88, of Vienna

Earless E. Gibson Cowan, 88, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Cowan was born January 14, 1927 at Grantsville, W.Va., a daughter of the late George D. Gibson and the late Neva Jackson Gibson Maze.

Earless was a 1945 graduate of Cairo High School and had been employed with the FBI in Washington, DC until she married in 1946. She was a 57 year member of the Vienna Baptist Church and a member of Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 152, Vienna. Earless enjoyed reading her Bible and attending garage sales.

She is survived by her sons, Norman Cowan and wife, Carmen, of Davenport, Iowa, Vernon Cowan and wife, Cherrie, of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Allen Cowan and wife, Regina, of Vienna, W.Va., six grandchildren, Kevin Cowan, Steven Cowan, April Cowan Long, Jason Cowan, Hollie Cowan and Cassie Cowan Mondragon; two step-granddaughters, Heather Chichester and Stephanie Cotterman; nine great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, George G. Gibson of Chester, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harley E. Cowan in 2007, a granddaughter, Carolyn Cowan.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna with Pastors Bill Brown and Dennis Pratt officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
