Dara Lynn Krack, 60, of Orma

Dara Lynn Krack, age 60, of Orma, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family as she wished.

Dara was born August 31, 1953, at Bloomington, Indiana.

She was a 1971 graduate of University High School in Bloomington, Indiana. She received a BS in Secondary Education from Indiana University with specialization in US History and Sociology; she also received a MS in Library Science from Indiana University of Library and Information. She was also certified in School Library Media Services K-12. She worked for the Division of Child and Protective Services at the Monroe County Welfare Department in Bloomington, Indiana, for 16 years, as a caseworker and supervisor, followed by two years as Librarian at Bindford Elementary School.

In 1998, Dara and her family moved to Orma, where she was the Librarian at Charleston Catholic High School from 1998 to 2014. She was the wife of Reed Krack, and the mother of Jake Krack, originally of Bloomington and Spencer, Indiana, and currently residing in Orma and Marlinton respectively.

Dara was an accomplished guitar player and accompanied her son, Jake, to many fiddle competitions and concerts. She enjoyed reading, playing rhythm guitar for old-time music, gardening, camping, raising terrier breed dogs and traveling beautiful West Virginia.

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by a brother, Tom McNamara, of Lebanon, Indiana; and three nephews and a niece.

Memorial service is Monday, May 19, 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Charleston. A reception will follow at Charleston Catholic High School Commons.
