Barbara I. Sponaugle, 73 - Palestine

Barbara I. Sponaugle, 73, of Palestine WV passed away July 23, 2015 at Camden Clark Memorial Campus after an extended illness. She was born in Spencer WV the daughter of the Late George and Virginia (Anderson) O'Dell. She worked for several years at Sheppard Enoch Pratt of Baltimore Maryland and later in life at Arlington Nursing of Parkersburg WV. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and watching hummingbirds She is Survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Clyde Sponaugle of Palestine WV; two children, Patricia (Greg) Brogdon of Elizabeth WV and Clyde Jr "Bobby" (Crystal) Sponaugle of Mineral Wells WV; grandchildren, Gregory (Brooke) Brogdon II, Adam (Correna) Brogden, Warren Brogdon, Patrick Brogdon, Christinia Sponaugle and Austin Sponaugle; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Butch O'Dell of Leroy WV and George (Stacy) O'Dell of Parkersburg WV; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by both her parents and a sister Diane Gibson. Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until time of the service. Interment will be at a later date.
