STARCHER RETURNS AS CALHOUN DEPUTY SHERIFF

Calhoun resident Jeff Starcher has returned to duty as a deputy sheriff for Sheriff Carl Ballengee.

Starcher started his law enforcement career in 2007 as a patrolman with the Grantsville Police Department, then graduating in 2008 from the WV State Police Academy.

He previously worked for the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department in 2009-2010, later returning to the Grantsville Police Department as Chief of Police in 2010.

Most recently, he served 4 years as a Transportation Enforcement Officer of the Transportation Enforcement Division of the Public Service Commission of WV, from 2011-2015, and was awarded an outstanding public service certificate.

He is also a certified law enforcement firearms instructor.

Starcher said, "My love and devotion for Calhoun County played a major role in my decision to 'come home' to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department.
