Jo Ann Stewart, 70 - Glenville

Jo Ann Stewart, age 70 of Glenville, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday evening, July 16, 2015 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, following a short illness.

Born February 27, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda Dukovich Maurer.

Jo Ann was a Community Service Specialist for Community Resource Inc. in which she served her community for 29 years. She has positively impacted the lives of thousands of individuals over the course of her life and career. She was a member of the Martha's and Mary's, FEMA Board, Senior Citizens Board of Directors, Chronic Disease Prevention Coalition, Tobacco Prevention Coalition, Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, and numerous other community boards and organizations.

Jo Ann was a Christian by faith and member of the Glenville Community Church, where she attended for 20 years. She always put the needs of others before her own, caring for family, friends, church members, and community, long before thinking of herself.

Surviving are 3 children, A.J. Stewart and wife Tanya, Tammy Huffman and husband Benton, and Jeana Mims all of Glenville, WV; 7 grandchildren, Kayla Stewart, Amiah Stewart, Paige Huffman, Adam Stewart, Seth Stewart, Jailyn Mims, and Gabrielle Mims, all of Glenville; and 3 siblings, Lois Surala of Hartstown PA, Nancy Ramsdell and husband Wayne of Cleveland OH, and Jim Maurer and wife Jo of Medina OH.

Along with her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by 1 brother-in-law, Jim Surala.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, on Route 5, west of Glenville. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday evening at the mortuary.
