These photos from early Calhoun gatherings, from schools to churches, were provided by Bill Umstead of Mt. Zion, giving a glimpse of earlier days. A Mt. Zion Methodist Church gathering in 1905 Teacher Russell Umstead (left) at the Mt. Beulah one-room school situated on "Ace Haney Hill" between Little Creek and Hardman Fork Lee Gainers (left standing) and his students at Pine Creek School in 1911 Calhoun group, maybe gas company employees, having and banquet likely in Grantsville in 1930s Old Barr one room school (stood at entrance to Calhoun Park) in 1898, with teacher Mary Sturm (woman with book), sister of Amos Sturm, with some students named Fred Stout, Laura Stout Kerby, Clyde and Ray Wilson, Jay Uldrich, Frank Fowler, Goff Connolly, Bret Huffman, Catherine Stutler, Meedie Gherke, Nellie Uldrich Umstead, Viola Fowler Shock, Brown Wilson, Florence Huffman Smith and Della Shock
