A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR WEDNESDAY FOR CLAY AND ROANE

Calhoun escaped a severe thunderstorm that passed through the region Tuesday evening.

The storm created power outages in several WV counties, including Roane with 356 outages and Clay with 722 outages.

Severe rain has swept through the region since Sunday, up to five inches in one hour in spots, causing flooding, evacuations and property damage.

Highway wash-outs in several counties.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has declared a state of emergency in Braxton, Wood, Webster, Clay, Lincoln, Logan, Nicholas, Putnam and Roane counties.
