FLASH FLOODING STRIKES REGION

(07/10/2015)
Following a Flash Flood Warning Friday afternoon for southeastern Roane, south central Calhoun, Clay and southern Braxton, there is localized flooding.

High water has been reported in in Clay, Nicholas and Roane counties, all reported roads closed due to flooding.

In Clay County, Wallback appears to be the hardest hit area. Several roads were closed, including Route 36.

The southern end of Roane County was also hit by heavy rain. Several roads were closed, including Big and Little Pigeon Run Road, Big Sandy Road and Cotton Tree Road.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday morning for the region.
