WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - State Police Kill Man In Standoff, Woman Attacked With Razor

MAN KILLED IN STANDOFF - A man was shot and killed following a standoff with West Virginia State Police.

State Police say they were called out to a hostage situation at a home along Buck Rub Road in Meadow Bridge on Thursday evening.

When WVSP arrived, they say Brian Johnson was armed with a crossbow and holding a woman captive inside. Johnson then fired an arrow at troopers when they advanced towards the home.

That is when troopers returned fire, shooting and killing Johnson.

No officers were injured during the shooting and the woman being held hostage was not seriously injured.

WOMAN ATTACKED WITH RAZOR - A Belle man is facing domestic violence charges after his girlfriend told police he cut her with a razor blade knife and threatened to kill her.

Richard Hedrick, 38, is charged with domestic violence battery and assault and malicious wounding, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

The complaint said Belle police were called to a residence in the 800 block of East Dupont Avenue on Thursday. When they arrived at the scene, the victim told them her boyfriend, Hedrick, had cut her several times with a razor blade knife, pulled her hair and punched her in the stomach. During these alleged attacks, the victim told police, Hedrick threatened to kill her.

Hedrick is currently being held in South Central Regional Jail.

DRIVE-BY SHOOTING - -- Police are investigating after a man was wounded Friday in an apparent drive-by shooting in Montgomery.

The man wounded in the shooting sustained wounds to the hip and the foot. He was transported to Montgomery General Hospital. The victim's condition was unavailable. Several law enforcement agencies responded to the incident.

Investigators were gathering evidence at the scene, where there appeared to be more than a dozen shell casings. It was unclear whether a suspect has been identified.
