CALHOUN COUPLE CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE SEXUAL ABUSE OFFENSES AGAINST MINOR FEMALES

State Police have arrested a Calhoun man and his girlfriend, filing multiple charges against them related to the sexual abuse of female minors.

Benjamin Edward Settle, 37, of Sassafras Ridge, Arnoldsburg, has been charged with sexual abuse by parent or guardian, sexual exploitation of a minor, use of obscene material in a seducing minor, furnishing beer to a minor and delivery of a controlled substance.

Kayla Rayshelle Cain, 20, of Sassafras Ridge, Arnoldsburg, has been charged by State Police with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, furnishing alcohol to a minor and indecent exposure.

Settle and Cain are in Central Regional Jail, Settle's bond is set at $135,000 and Cain's bond at $35,000.

Trooper B. K. Shingleton, in a criminal complaint, says Settles engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old female, with her 12-year-old sister involved in what was described as "partying."

The complaint says that Settles and Cain were involved in providing alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes to the minors with other friends at their residence.

The complaint alleges that Settles had sex with the 15-year-old on three separate occasions.

The complaints, describing graphic sexual activity, also alleges that Cain would strip off all her clothes, exposing herself.

Child Protective Services were involved in investigating the incident.
