Driver crashes truck into Department
of Highways vehicle at Mt. Zion

It was a lucky day for drivers in Calhoun crashes.

A male driver lost control of his truck Wednesday night on State Rt. 16, Mt. Zion and crashed into a WV Department of Highways truck, parked at the department's garage.

The driver's vehicle was totaled with extensive damage to the parked truck.

The driver escaped without serious injury, but was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System by EMS following the 8:30 p.m. incident.

State Police, investigating the incident, indicated the driver was likely under the influence.

Driver escapes injury in Phillips Run crash

Another driver lost control of a vehicle on Rt. 16 just south of the Grantsville city limits Wednesday, the vehicle crashing into Phillips Run.

The vehicle struck a bridge at Woody Lane, then plunged into the creek. The driver was not injured, but the vehicle appeared to be totaled.

The Grantsville VFD, Minnie Hamilton EMS, and the WV State Police responded.
