PROPOSED WOOD COUNTY CRACKER PLANT TAKES ANOTHER HIT - Brazilian CEO Arrested Over Allegedly Stealing Billions

(06/24/2015)
Scandal has rocked Odebrecht, the Brazilian company that in November 2013 announced it wanted to build a $5 billion ethane cracker plant complex near Parkersburg.

Marcelo Odebrecht (right) president and CEO of Odebrecht SA, one of the largest construction companies in South America, has been arrested for being part of a plan that stole "billions of dollars" from Brazil's state-run Petrobras Oil Company.

His arrest raises more questions about the viability of the proposed Parkersburg ethane cracker project.
