| Sherry Darlene Cottrell, age 58, of Duck Run Road, Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 10:55 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia, following a short illness. Born June 14, 1956 in Wyoming County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Dallas and Sylvia Bailey Osborne. Darlene was a health Care Assistant at the William R. Sharpe Hospital and a 1990 graduate of Southern Ohio College. Darlene enjoyed riding four wheelers, reading books, traveling, and playing with her 2 favorite dogs, Peanut and Abby. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved taking care of her family and friends. Darlene especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and spoiled them every chance she got. On July 12, 2008, Darlene was united in marriage to Clarence Wayne Cottrell, who survives at their Duck Run home. Surviving are 3 children, Ron Gregory and wife Nicole of Aubrey TX, Jeff Gregory and wife Krista of Jane Lew WV, and Melissa Mitchell of Welch WV; 3 stepchildren, Michelle Taylor and husband Brad of Weston, WV, Jerry Dawson of Weston, and William Cottrell and wife Evelyn of Glenville; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Gregory and boyfriend Carson Tubbs of Aubrey TX, Scarlett and Melanie Gregory of Aubrey TX, Anna Cooper and Kayla Ball of Welch WV, and Makenzie Gregory of Jane Lew WV. There are also 10 brothers and sisters surviving; 2 special pets, Peanut and Abby, and long time special friend, Geneva Waggy. Along with her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by 1 sister, Norma Jean Gibson. Darlene's request for cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Mortuary. Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Sherry Darlene Cottrell with arrangements.
