Billie Joe Yoak, 78 - Grantsville

Billie Joe Yoak, 78, of Grantsville, WV passed away June 10, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

He was born August 13, 1936, a son of the late Elias and Ollie Kight Yoak.

Billie Joe was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force. He flew K-C-135, keeping B-52s fueled. He was retired from GE in Washington, WV. He loved to farm and care for the cattle.

He is survived by sisters, Grace Richards, Evadeen Kesler, Edna Robinson, and Hazel (Ray) Tingler; brother, Robert (Dolores) Yoak; sisters-in-law, Leona Yoak and Madeline Yoak; a very special friend, Connie Boggs; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece "Nurse Kaye"; many cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Yoak and Orville Ray Yoak.

The family of Billie Joe wishes to thank Mike Mills, Minnie Hamilton Health System, St. Mary's Medical Center, and Health Net for their help and excellent care.

Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 with Rev. Richard Metheney and Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Interment will be on the farm where his nephew has carved "JOE" on a tree stump.
