COTTRILL CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC BATTERY AFTER LONG POLICE SEARCH

State Police and the Calhoun Sheriffs Department searched for 32-year-old Dennis Lee Cottrill of Big Bend for several hours Wednesday, arresting him for domestic battery. Trooper Jeff Hunt located Cottrrill on Pine Creek Rd. and he was taken to Central Regional Jail. Cottrill is charged Domestic Battery and a marijuana charge, with bond set at $6,000. A criminal complaint alleges Cottrill choked and struck his wife, holding her for a time in their residence until she got away, she expressing fear for her life. The complaint verified multiple injuries to the victim. The complainant says that the victim said Cottrill had never acted in such an abusive matter before, indicating it was linked to drug use.
