Forest (Shorty) Roberts, 93 - Grantsville

Forest (Shorty) Roberts, 93, of Grantsville, WV, passed away on June 9, 2015 at Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Parkersburg, WV.

He was born May 2, 1922, the son of the late Lem and Eunice Wilt Roberts.

Forest was a WWII veteran and served with the 339 Polar Bear Regiment. Forest retired from Hope-Dominion Gas Company. Prior to his illness, he attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons, Bob (Charlotte) Roberts and Forest, Jr. (Joyce) Roberts; grandchildren, Theresa (David) Dorsey; Debbie Lockhart; Kimberly (Mike) Cheesbrew; and Kristy Roberts; 8 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Ronzel (Leona) Roberts; sister, Barbara Davis; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia (Tingler) Roberts; step-mother, Chloe Roberts; and sister, Vieva Church.

The family of Forest would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving and excellent care provided by the employees of Worthington.

Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Nobe Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
