DUNBAR SENTENCED 10-30 YEARS IN PRISON IN SEXUAL ABUSE CASE - Ackley Issued Prison Sentence

Billy Dunbar appeared for sentencing in Calhoun Circuit Court on his guilty plea to three counts of incest, all felonies.

Judge Thomas Evans III sentenced Dunbar five to fifteen years in the state penitentiary on each count. Two of the sentences are to be served consecutively and the third is to be served concurrently.

Prosecutor Shannon Johnson said the Dunbar will serve a total of ten to thirty years in prison. Upon his release, he will be placed on twenty five years supervised probation and will register as a sex offender.

Prosecutor Johnson said Gary Ackley was sentenced to one to three years in the state penitentiary for driving under the Influence, third offense, and to one to ten years in the state penitentiary for transferring stolen goods.

Ackley was ordered to enroll in and complete a residential substance abuse treatment program in the Department of Corrections prior to his parole.

Harley Little's motion for release from home confinement was granted, related to drug offenses.

Danny Lockhart's cases involving the manufacture of marijuana and sexual assault were continued and will come on for trial on June 30.

Gary Ferrell's pre-trial hearing on his charges of delivery of a controlled substance was continued to June 26.

Gary Johnson was arraigned on his felony charge of manufacturing marijuana. His case was set for trial on June 30.

Justin Hannah appeared on his recent indictment for forgery and uttering. His case was set for arraignment on June 26.

Brian Smith was arraigned on his recent indictment for malicious assault and sexual assault in the second degree. His case was set for trial on June 30.

Joseph Kute was arraigned on his recent indictment for malicious assault, a felony, and battery, a misdemeanor. His case was set for trial on June 30.

There were eleven juvenile hearings on the docket.

Judge David W. Nibert presided over Circuit Court in Calhoun County on May 19, according to prosecutor Johnson

Dennis and Cindy McCune appeared on their recent indictment for operation of a clandestine methamphetamine drug laboratory. Their case will come on for trial on July 21.

James Blankenship and Mary Parsons appeared on their indictment for delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy. Their case will come on for trial on September 15.

Page Forth appeared for arraignment on her indictment for manufacturing marijuana. Her case was set for trial on August 4.

Josh Slider's sentencing for operating a clandestine drug laboratory was continued to June 29.

Justin Knight, Darren Parsons, and George Parsons were arraigned on their indictment for grand larceny and conspiracy. Their trials are set for August 4. On a prior day, the judge issued a bench warrant for their co-defendant William Vandal, Jr., who failed to appear.

The judge also heard nine juvenile cases.
