CALHOUN WOMAN SENTENCED IN DUI DEATH - Home Confinement In Lieu Of Jail Term

A Calhoun woman plead guilty to a charge of Drinking Under the Influence with a related death, according to the Calhoun Magistrate's Report.

Hollie Cunningham, 28, of Barnes Run was sentenced to incarceration for one year, with the sentence suspended. She will spend one year on home confinement.

The hearing was held in Magistrate Rick Postalwait's court yesterday.

The charges are related to the death of Grantsville Foodland manager Amanda Rogers, 26, who died in a vehicle driven by Cunningham on August 24, 2002.

She was also fined $750, $150 or 20% of DUI fine and $115 court cost. In addition she must attend an alcohol awareness program.

Rogers died instantly after she was partially ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over on the right fork of Barnes Run, about two miles from Mount Zion.
