A four-year-old girl was killed early Thursday morning and two others were seriously hurt in a crash along Interstate 79 in Braxton County near the Servia exit.

West Virginia State Police said people were in a GMC Envoy when the driver lost control, ran into the median and rolled four times before coming to a stop.

The child was pronounced dead on the scene after the 6:15 a.m. incident.

The driver and six passengers were taken to Braxton Memorial. One of them was later flown to CAMC General in Charleston with serious injuries. Another was one taken by ambulance to Charleston.

The driver and the other four passengers were treated and released from Braxton Memorial.

Police say the group was on its way to Paris, Kentucky from New York when the crash happened.

The northbound and southbound fast lanes were closed for hours, but have since reopened.
