Helen Grace (Cottrell) Hawver, 84 - Spencer

(04/24/2015)
Helen Grace (Cottrell) Hawver, 84, passed to her Heavenly Reward on April 22, 2015 in Miletree Center in Spencer, West Virginia where she was a resident.

Helen was born at Reedy, West Virginia on June 3, 1930 to William Herbert and Martha Jane "Mattie" (Conrad) Cottrell. She suffered from Epilepsy since a small child and was home schooled. She enjoyed researching genealogy, quilting, knitting, and playing dominoes and was a self-taught artist who loved to draw and paint.

She enjoyed fellowship with others and discussing the Bible and tried to be a friend to all who met her. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, her husband, James Lovell Hawver in 2000.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, William E. "Bud" and Edna Cottrell; her niece, Janet Cottrell, her grand-nephew, "Little Ray" Jarvis; and several cousins who will no doubt miss her smile and laughter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Reedy. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
