An Elkview man is wanted on multiple charges, including felony wanton endangerment, after he allegedly pointed a rifle at his girlfriend, according to the Kanawha County Sheriffs Department.

Brandon Lee Kessell, 29, also is wanted on domestic battery and unlawful restraint charges.

Deputies say the incident happened Sunday when Kessell allegedly struck his girlfriend during an argument. The woman reported that she awakened to Kessell repeatedly striking her in the head with her cell phone. The woman also said she was kneed in the chest, creating serious bruising, and bitten on the nose.

Deputies say Kessell also grabbed a .22-caliber rifle, loaded it with ammunition and pointed it at her. He allegedly said he would kill her or anyone who tried to help her.

The woman said Kessell prevented her from leaving or calling for help until early Tuesday.
