Effie E. Mace, 96 - Spencer

Effie E. Mace, 96, of Spencer, West Virginia died April 6, 2015 at her home.

She was born August 27, 1918 in Roane County, West Virginia a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Mary Runnion Reynolds.

She worked at the Spencer State Hospital and was a housekeeper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freer Mace; seven children, Genevieve, Kenneth, Betty, Freer, Jr., Jack, William "Bill", and Donald; five brothers, Orville, William, Ernest, Edward, and Charles; and four sisters, Gertrude Reynolds, Pauline Williams, Edna Bender, and Ethel Kendall.

She is survived by her children, Emma (Jesse) of Spencer, Patty of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Dorsey (Donna) of Spencer, David (Cathy) and Joe (Marge) of Parkersburg, and Kenneth (Vickie) of Samson, Alabama; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a public visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer. A private family service will take place on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Lands officiating with burial to follow in the Mace Cemetery on Triplett Road near Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, Effie requested donations to the Roane County Animal Shelter, 2550 Parkersburg Road, Spencer WV 25276.
