Elizabeth, W.Va. - Ethan Gregory Wriston, a Senior at Wirt County High School, has been selected to attend the 2015 Congress of Science and Technology Leaders to be held June 28-30, 2015 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Ethan will be representing Wirt County and West Virginia as a delegate to the 2015 Congress. He is the Co-President of the Wirt County High School Science Club, manager of the Wirt High Track Team, a silent member of Hi-Y/YLA, member of the Wirt County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9145.

He will attend Miami University of Ohio this fall, and plans to study physics, chemistry, and nuclear engineering, with hopes of becoming a Naval Officer and eventually working as an astronaut in the United States Space Program with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who are passionate about science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). The purpose of this event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the country who aspire to be scientists and technologists, to stay true to their dream and, after the event, to provide a path, plan, and resources to help them reach their goal.

The theme of the June 2015 Congress is "Greatness Awaits" and scholars will be mentored by some of the greatest living minds in science who are leading humanity into the 21st century of innovation and discovery. Speakers will include Nobel Prize Laureates, deans from the world's top-10 universities, leaders in research and cutting-edge technology, and leaders from private industry to include Google Director of Engineering Ray Kurzweil, CEO and Co-Founder of Foursquare Dennis Crowley, Harvard School of Engineering Dean Cherry A. Murray, Ph. D, and MIT Dean of Admissions Stuart Schmill, among others.

"This is a crucial time in America when we need engineers and scientists who are even better prepared for a future that is changing exponentially," said Richard Rossi, Executive Director, National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists. "Focused, bright and determined students like Ethan are our future and they deserve all the mentoring and guidance we can give them."

At the close of the Congress, Scholars will participate in a formal candlelit ceremony where they will be awarded the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Achievement.
