Gay Park celebrated her 84th birthday with a family gathering at the Golden Corral in Parkersburg.

Dean Miller and Chuck Boggs were among those attending to business in Grantsville.

Carol Campbell and her comely daughters Kelli Allen and Karin Schaffer were looking after their affairs, decorating at the Snyder/McCray graveyard and calling on relatives and friends in the Creston area. They noted that there were still piles of snow where they live up in Ohio.

Earl Adwell who oversaw the construction of the Little Creek bridge reported that he is now building a big bridge down in Tennessee.

Kenny Grady, age 70, of Vienna passed away. He was for years the mailman for the W. Va. Department of Highways district in Parkersburg. He was one who went out of his way to obtain the parts or items one needed and made sure that they were delivered to where they needed to go. Burial was in the Hicks cemetery in Roane County.

Mary Nicholas, wife of Ivan Nicholas, age 79, of Brohard passed away. Many remember her as an employee of Richard Maze's grocery store in Elizabeth. The daughter of Jesse Greathouse and Roxie Roberts Greathouse Monroe she was buried at Hodam.

Helen Louise Woodring, age 85, of Burning Springs passed away. The widow of Marcus Woodring she was laid to rest in the Beatty cemetery.

Nancy Engelke got a good report back from her recent tests.

The buzzards have returned to the area while some of the northern visitors are still in the area. While spring came locally without snow such was not the case in the eastern panhandle. The global warming crowd has taken offence to the general doubt and disdain shown by the taxpayers and now they plan revenge. A shady group Sea Change funded by liberal billionaires and Klein Ltd. an overseas "paper company" spends millions to influence public opinion and buy politicians and now the idea is to punish those who question what Al Gore called "settled science". One greenie said the deniers should be executed and those who dare speak are usually smeared all of which shows that the fraudsters fear being exposed like the book 1984.

Charles Russell was attending to business in Spencer and called on Ray Gumm, Mr. & Mrs. Paris Parsons and brother Euell at the Miletree Center.

A certain fellow brought Edith Kittle some flowers.

Donna Chambers is on the mend after a hip repair.

J. P. Marks was calling at the Creston space dock.

Freddie Bush was hauling hay in the Creston area over the weekend.

The big eared one is mad that the leader of Israel was reelected & is throwing a tantrum. It would seem that the only consolation is that the one true God is on the side of Israel and woe to those who would destroy her. Dear leader and John Heinz-Kerry are determined to make a deal with Iran whose leaders continue to call for the destruction of America and Israel.

The carnage from the attack on the American shale oil & gas plays continues as folks are laid off and now there is even talk of postponement of the cracker plant in Wood County although having a cheaper feedstock seems to be a poor excuse for delayed construction. It should be noted that the big eared one's science advisor John Holdren wrote long ago that "A massive campaign must be launched to de-develop the United States. De-development means bringing our economic system into line with the reality of ecology and the world resource situation". Under the proposed ozone rules some local factory would have to be closed before a new one could be built although the W. Va. AG is joining with other states to sue the EPA over this proposed "rule" or decree.

Those who attended the Ohio Oil & Gas meeting (OOGA) heard Dr. Verlanger who formerly worked for Alan Greenspan talk about "black swans" or situations that no one ever expected to happen. A black swan is an outlier that nothing in the past can convincingly point to the possibility. Then the event happens and then all concoct explanations with examples being the asteroid that hit the Yucatan that killed the dinosaurs, huge volcanic eruptions, the San Francisco earthquake that bankrupted Lloyds, etc. Human caused black swans include 9/11, the PC revolution with the almost extinction of main frame computer makers, etc. Along these lines the Arabs are concerned about the development of the shale fields and that America is about to become an exporter of natural gas and crude oil thus cutting into their market share and profitability. This would change the entire world economy and western Europe would not be at the mercy of the Russian dictator who dreams of a vast empire. The Saudis dropped the price of crude in the hopes that it may slow fracking [and the development of America's shale fields including locally the Marcellus, Utica and Rogersville pays} and will shut down the Canadian oil sands project which would send heavy crude to gulf refineries thus cutting out their sales there. This, of course, is another reason, besides sugar daddy Warren Buffett's railroad why the big eared one stopped the Keystone pipeline since the Saudis paid for his days at Harvard. It costs the Arabs $3 to produce oil so they can play the game for a long time. Also those with memories remember that Jimmy Carter who also hated Israel and loved the Arabs demolished the local oil & gas industry and caused a great increase in imports from his towel headed friends. Some may remember Bert Lance his money man who was a "Pioneer" in Arab financial deals.

Locally the price of Pennsylvania grade crude oil is $44.72/bbl. with drip (Appalachian light sweet) fetching just $20.72 with Marcellus & Utica light $38.72 and medium S44.72/bbl.

Talk continues about W. Va. HB 2688, the forced pooling bill that was being pushed by the big out of state firms. It was reported that there were 46 lobbyists trying to shove "the compromise" through and thus pull off one of the biggest heists of minerals and money in state history. If the bill passed the firms would no longer have to negotiate with local property owners as they could get the gullible to sign the papers they brought them and then expropriate those would understood what they should be paid and demanded accountability, something denied in the proposed legislation. One of the companies currently has 100 lawsuits pending against state residents who would not agree to "their terms" and the suits ask that the property be taken from the citizens and given to the big boys. Some think that the big boys will ask their buddy Broadway Joe to tell Earl Ray to call a special session to pass the bill before too many more citizens find out what the bill really says not what the lobbyists told the legislators. Some were told "This is the best deal we can get" but such obviously is not at all the case. When wells payout in three months royalties should be at least 25% and, if the wells were in the sands near the mid east the royalty would be 50%. Cabot noted that they were able to make huge profits in the dry Marcellus because "they were able to keep royalty expense low".

Cabot has expressed interest, on the very cheap, locally but when one has wells on Cabot minerals the royalty is 25%. Some called the bill "a first step" but if it were to pass that would be the last bill passed and, of course, some gullible legislators would be retired some "well lubricated" ones would "look out" for the out of state scoundrels.
