TEAMS AND ORGANIZERS GEAR-UP FOR CALHOUN'S 2015 RELAY FOR LIFE

(04/17/2015)
The 2015 Calhoun Relay for Life will be held Saturday, June 27 at Wayne Underwood Field in Grantsville.

Relay For Life of Calhoun County is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society to raise funds to support local patient services and to fund research grants. The theme for this year's event is "Toon-Out Cancer."

Relay for Life organizers ask, "Have you attended a Relay For Life event? If not, why not?" Relay is a fun event, yet a serious one too. It celebrates life and death of all those who have endured the dreaded word "CANCER". That word is one that no one wants to hear given to them as a diagnosis. Many have survived this disease and yet many haven't. That is why we Relay. We do this because of the following reasons:

It can help change lives, so that we can save others and make a difference.

We have family who have/had cancer.

We have friends who have/had cancer.

To raise funds to help find a cure for family/friends.

In memory of those who have gone on, with the Hope of helping others.

In honor of those who have survived this disease.

To fight back to survive and celebrate more time with others.

Because we really want to see an end to the dreaded disease called Cancer.

Remember there is always a way you can help with the Relay. Get on a team, help raise funds, give through Luminaria's. Team members can give you luminaria forms, listing in memory or in honor, at $5.00 for each name given. Will you help? More Information will follow!

Calhoun County Relay for Life committee would like to invite everyone to join in their fight to end cancer. If you know anyone affected by cancer or you just want to be a part of something amazing, consider forming a team. Simply go to www.relayforlife.org and follow the steps listed to form your team.

Team meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at the Family Resource Network [FRN] office in Grantsville at 4:45 p.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Event organizers, Barb McKown, Carmen Hathaway and Shannon Davis say "Let's make this year the biggest and best year for Calhoun County Relay for Life."
