WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Man Stabs Three At Richwood Bar

(03/16/2015)
RICHWOOD STABBING - A man accused of stabbing several people at Carolyn's Tavern in Richwood, Nicholas County at 2 a.m. Sunday has been arrested.

Joshua Vargas, 35, fled the scene, but was arrested Sunday afternoon.

When police arrived, there were three people with stab wounds.

All three victims were taken to Summersville Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to CAMC in Charleston.

Vargas faces three counts of malicious assault.

THREE HOUR STAND-OFF IN KANAWHA - An intense standoff situation is over in Kanawha County.

Police arrested Robert Clyde Bonds, 21, after the tense situation was resolved, but for three hours SWAT teams tried to get a man barricaded inside a home to come out peacefully.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Officer was responding to an assault or kidnapping call. The female victim told dispatchers she was being held against her will and that she had been beaten by Bonds.

She told dispatcher Bonds had used a stun gun on her and that he had physically assaulted her with items from inside the home.

She was able to flee from the residence and meet with responding deputies.

Deputies on the scene said they believed Bonds was the only person inside the home, so there was no rush getting him out.

The victim also told officers that Bonds could have firearms.

The SWAT team used an armored vehicle.

At about 3 p.m. SWAT team members fired gas grenades into the home and when the Bonds still didn't come out they then busted down the door, threw a concussion grenade and pulled him out.
