LITTLE KANAWHA WILL CREST NEAR 36 FOOT FLOOD STAGE - Northside Road Flooded

While heavy flooding struck parts of West Virginia Wednesday, there was some minor flooding in Calhoun and the region, including flooding in the Alvord section of Spencer and the Town of Reedy, well-known places to flood.

At 9 p.m. water from the Little Kanawha River had closed Northside Road at Grantsville.

According to the NWS river level map, the Little Kanawha River was at 30.1 feet at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The river level map is now showing that the Little Kanawha will crest at 35.6 feet, with 36 feet being at flood stage.

The crest will occur about 9. a.m. Thursday.
