WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR REGION SUNDAY AM - Flooding Possible Mid-Week

(02/28/2015)
A winter weather system will move through the area Sunday morning between 3 am and 9 am. This system will bring a period of winter precipitation in the form of sleet, freezing rain and snow to the forecast area before changing to mostly rain after 9 am.

Confidence is lacking on when precipitation types will change and if there will be any accumulations worthy of an advisory.

System has the potential to cause slippery roads and sidewalks.

The National Weather Service says there's a potential for flooding in the upcoming week in West Virginia.

The weather service says significant rainfall combined with warmer temperatures and a melting snowpack could cause streams and rivers to rise.

The weather service says there's the likelihood of heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 50s. .
