Parkersburg Police arrested Joseph M. Shuman, 37, of Parkersburg Monday after he attempted to rob the 7th Street Rite Aid with a knife for drugs.
His armed robbery ended with an arrest Monday evening. Police say he threatened employees and their families with a large hunting style knife. Shuman was still in the store when an officer arrived. He was arrested after a brief standoff. MORGANTOWN SHOOTING - There are few details about a shooting death last Friday night near Morgantown. One person is dead and a person of interest has identified in a shooting in the Cheat Lake area. The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department responded to a reported shooting at approximately 11:30 p.m. When deputies arrived on scene, they found one deceased male. The victim has been identified as Colton Balasko, 18, of Price Hill Road.
