EARLY MORNING FIRE REPORTED RT. 16 WALKER RD. INTERSECTION - Residents Reported Fleeing Structure

Fire was reported at a structure along State Rt. 16 south, near the Intersection of Walker Road (Chloe area) at 3:27 a.m. Friday, according to Calhoun 911. Residents of a former store building turned residential dwelling reported they had fled the structure, smelling smoke. The Upper West Fork VFD was paged and responding to the scene. First responder reported not seeing any visible flames. Trucks returned to station. The early morning temperature was -5 to -7 degrees.
