Ralph C. Hatfield, 77 - Palestine

Ralph C. Hatfield, 77, of Palestine, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home.

He was born August 11, 1938 in Gilbert, West Virginia, a son of the late Kelly and Ettie Harrison Hatfield.

He was a retired coal miner and attended the Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Ellis Hatfield; two sons, Curtis Ray Hatfield of Palestine and Ricky (Andrea) Hatfield of Gulf Shores, Alabama; three sisters, Maxine Cline of Cucumber, West Virginia, Elma (Chester) Brown of Gilbert, West Virginia, and Barbara Mounts of Gilbert; two brothers, Robey (Emogene) Hatfield of Reedy, West Virginia and Herbert (Sue) Hatfield of Barboursville, West Virginia; and a grandson, Curtis Hatfield, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gracie Bryant and Martha Smith, both of Gilbert.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia. There will be an addition visitation at the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert from 6:00 to 9:00pm on Saturday with the funeral on Sunday at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery near Gilbert.
