Carl Eugene Thorn, 57 - Charles Town

Carl Eugene Thorn, 57, of Charles Town WV, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 after a 4 year battle with cancer.

Carl has found rest and healing in his heavenly home.

He was a devoted husband, father of four and pop-pop to eight grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Connie S. Thorn of Charles Town; children, Brandon and Erin Thorn of Leesburg VA, Megan and Edmond Corbiser of Martinsburg WV, Jesse and Mandy Thorn of Martinsburg, and Chase Thorn of Charles Town; grandchildren, Evan, Mallory, Alexander, Zachary, Garrison, Vivienne, Henry and Raegan. He is also survived by his mother, Norma Carolyn Thorn of Elizabeth WV and his sister Carolyn Rebecca Thorn of Belpre OH; as well as, a host of relatives.

A funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Ranson (614 Lone Oak Road, Ranson WV).

On Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Matheny-Whited Funeral Home in his hometown of Elizabeth WV, there will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle (330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville WV 25430), or the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge at NIH (65 Center Drive, Bethesda MD, 20814.
