COLD WEATHER ALERT: WIND CHILL ADVISORY FOR CALHOUN AND REGION -10 TO -20 SUNDAY AM, Saturday Afternoon White-Out And Slick Roads, Protect Outside Pets

Saturday afternoon snow brought a white-out and very risky driving conditions in Calhoun, with high winds whipping across county.

Wind gusts reached 50 miles per hour, but most of the wind was barely above local elevations.

The Grantsville VFD responded to a car blocking Rt. 16 on Town Hill at 4:26 p.m. and vehicles were in ditches on various roads around the county.

The Arnoldsburg VFD responded at 4:36 p.m. to a car in the ditch on Rt. 16 near Millstone Hill for traffic control.

A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 11 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday.

Wind chill readings as low as minus 10 to minus 20 for Sunday morning.

Temperatures dropping to zero to minus 5 degree in other areas. Sunday morning.

Sunday nights temp near zero.

Outside pets should be provided with warmth during these lows.

Birds have a tough time feeding with these sub-freezing conditions.
