SECOND SUSPECT ARRESTED IN MACHETE HOLD-UP AT BIG OTTER GO-MART - Suspect's Mother Charged With Beating Elderly Man

UPDATE - Authorities have arrested a second Clay County man, Bruce Edward Bird, 28 (left) and charged him with robbery in connection to heists at the Big Otter Go Mart and a Clendenin store.

He is being held in Central Regional Jail with bond in the Clay case set at $200,000 and $75,000 in the Kanawha case.

Arrested earlier was Issiah Todd Murphy from Clay, whose bond is not set at $280,000.

Bird's mother, Brenin Bird was arrested for robbing and beating an elderly man outside of Clay County restaurant.

Officers said all the crimes had one common theme, drugs.

ORIGINAL STORY - A Clay County man, Isaiah Todd Murphy, 25 (left) has been arrested by Clay County authorities and charged with armed robbery and petit larceny.

He is being held on $205,000 bond in Central Regional Jail.

Murphy was arrested for his role in the hold-up of the Big Otter Go-Mart with a machete, and at a 7-11 near Clendenin.

West Virginia State Police were also able to identify another suspect in the incidents, Bruce, a.k.a. BJ, Bird, 28, of Clay County.

Bird is still on the run.
