Calhoun stopped a three-game skid with a double-header sweep of South Harrison Thursday night.

The Red Devils, 7-9, took the varsity game 70-50 while also winning the reserve game by a 39-35 count.

The Hawks. 0-16, are winless on the season with neither the varsity or the reserve team getting a victory.

In the varsity game three Red Devils scored in double figures as they took an early lead then pulled away after that.

Sam Brady led the way for the Red Devils with 15 points seven rebounds (tying Zack Yanero off the boards) while Ethyn Miller added 13 and Tyler Sims 11.

Yanero had nine and William Baker eight as the Red Devils barely missed having a quintet hit in double figures. Dylan Heiney added five while Luke Sheldon had four, Lucas Wilson three and Austin Gribble two. Dakota Jarvis played but did not score.

Game honors went to South Harrison senior Zak Wentz with 22. He was the only Hawk to have double figures.

Austin Glasspell was close with nine. Cam Barnette had six, Dallas Golden had five Dakota Jarrett three, Brooks Stover and Jon Whitehair had two and Austin Braley one.

Calhoun led virtually all the way in the reserve game but was not able to pull away like the varsity did.

Jarvis, Gribble and Ben Frederick all scored eight to lead the Red Devils. They were backed by Case Carter with six, David Washington with three, and Caqden Hicks, Ross Vineyard and Soney Wilson with two each. Kaleb Nicholas played but did not score. Chris Kirkland, Jaron Hall and Noah Allen did not play.

According to the Doddridge schedule at the WVSSAC (Calhoun's schedule has not been updated) the Red Devils will make up Monday's postponed game on Feb. 9, 2015. There will be no junior varsity game.
