BRAXTON MAN CHARGED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO CUT WOMAN'S THROAT

A Braxton County man, George Blaine Geary, 56, is facing multiple charges by Braxton authorities.

According to a criminal complaint, Geary reportedly physically and verbally abused a woman at a home in Exchange.

Geary was reportedly intoxicated, started yelling at the woman, and threatened to throw her down the stairs and kill her.

The complaint says Geary grabbed the woman by the throat, threw her on the couch, and put a knife to her throat.

Police say there was a visible cut on the woman's throat.

He has been charged with malicious assault, wounding, and battery, domestic battery 1st/2nd by threats, a person prohibited with a firearm with a Domestic Violence Petition in place.

He is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $50,000.
