Franklin E. Wine, 74 - Reedy

Franklin E. Wine, 74, of Middle Fork of Reedy, West Virginia passed away January 24, 2015 at Eldercare of Ripley after a long illness.

Frank was the youngest of ten children of the late Clarence Herbert "C.H." and Cora Atlas "Addie" Simmons Wine.

Frank was born April 23, 1940 in Spencer, West Virginia. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 35 ½ years of service. He was well known for his sense of humor and playing jokes on others. He was a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene where he was always helping wherever he was needed. He was always helping friends, neighbors and family or anyone in need. Frank served in the US Army for three years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Atkinson Wine; two children, Franklin E. "Buddy" Wine, Jr. of St. Albans, West Virginia and Shelly Wine of Ridgeland, South Carolina; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wine; grandsons, Joshua Franklin Wine and Austin Wine; a step-grandson, Ethan Gray; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Clifford, and Jack Wine; and sisters, Freda Brooks, Mable Batten, Mildred Foster, Wilma Parsons, and Ruby Batten.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Pastor Buddy Wine officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Visiting hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston WV 25302.
