Douglas Eugene Cottrell, 44 - Mole Hill

Douglas Eugene Cottrell, 44, of Mole Hill, Ritchie County, WV, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.

He was born June 11, 1970 at Buckhannon WV, a son of Calvin and Nancy Cottrell of Orma WV.

Douglas was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed by H.G. Energy, LLC for 10 years.

In addition to his parents, survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Lori Cottrell of Spencer WV; one sister and brother-in-law, Ramonia and Mark McCann of Wellsville NY; two daughters, Katelyn Cottrell of Elizabeth WV and Kaylee Cottrell of Alma WV ; one nephew, Christian Cottrell of Huntington WV; two nieces, Zoe and Grace McCann of Wellsville NY; nine aunts, Greta Bargelow, Mildred McBride, Kathy Starcher, Loretta Bishop, Carol Summers, Vera Johnson, Connie Hoskins, Patty Cottrell and Glenna Cesaro; six uncles, Don Cottrell, Dave Cottrell, Burl Cottrell, Gerald Cottrell, Wayne Groves and Rodney Groves; lots of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Virginia Anderson Groves; paternal grandparents, Noah and Fronia Jones Cottrell; three uncles, Roger Groves, Melvin Cottrell and Darrell Cottrell; and two aunts, Marie Cottrell and Freda Bugden.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 26 at the Arnoldsburg Community Building, with the Rev. Danny Hopkins officiating. Friends may call two hours before the memorial service.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home of Spencer WV, is in charge of arrangements.
