Dortha Jean Hess, 77 - Martinsburg

Dortha Jean Hess, 77, of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.

She was born April 1, 1937 in Glenville, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie Riley Gillespie.

She was formerly employed as a stocker at Wal-Mart. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to spend time with her family especially her great-granddaughter, Autumn Rayne Hess.

She is survived by two sons, Orlen Glenn Hess of Glenville, WV, David Hess and wife Lisa and their four children of Martinsburg; two daughters, Elizabeth Starkey and husband Mike and their two children of Liberal KS, Debra Bee and husband, Robbie; granddaughter, Mary Gray and husband Steven and their four children; grandson John Hess and wife, Lisa; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Hess; a brother, Robert Gillespie of St. Clairsville OH; and one sister, Hilda Langford of Weston WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Oren Hess and 2 siblings.

Friends may call 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, WV, where funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Glenville.

Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is assisting the family of Dortha Hess with local arrangements.
