Betty Lou Stump Rowland, 82, Muncie, Indiana, died Dec. 29, 2014, at Hooverwood Nursing Home, Indianapolis, Ind.
She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Erra and Ruby Stump.
She was a 1950 graduate of Calhoun County High School. She married Ed Rowland on Feb. 12, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, where they raised four children, until relocating to Muncie, Ind. After years as a homemaker, she worked at J.C. Penny, Muncie, retiring after more than 20 years of service. She attended Shawnee Heights Baptist Church and was a member of Muncie Red Hat Society and Muncie Chapter 104, Order of Eastern Star. Betty and Ed actively supported Muncie Shrine Club activities.
Surviving are three sons, Mark Rowland of Westerville, Ohio, Alan Rowland of Indianapolis and Barry Rowland of Muncie; two daughters, Nancy Busk of Indianapolis and Marsha Orth Feathers of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren, Tyler and Allison Rowland of Westerville, Christina Rowland of Orlando, Fla., and Jamie Orth of Bartow, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace "Ed" Rowland, on Feb. 4, 2002; one brother, Bernard; four sisters, Isabella, Evelyn, Kathryn and Claire; and one grandson, Carl Edward Rowland.
Burial will be on Friday in Garden of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
