A longtime dedicated volunteer for veteran's groups in Calhoun has passed.

Frances Ash Tanner of Arnoldsburg was 77. She died after a bout with cancer.

She was president of Grantsville VFWs 5959 Ladies Axillary for 12 years, a member of the American Legion and was instrumental in founding and maintaining the annual veteran's honorary dinner at Arnoldsburg for many years.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with burial in the family cemetery along the West Fork near Rocksdale.
