WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Mink Shoals Woman Murdered

(12/31/2014)
KANAWHA MURDER - A man has been arrested in Logan County for fatally shooting a Mink Shoals woman and wounding her 17-year-old son.

Police learned that the dead woman was his sister, and the juvenile was his nephew.

Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said Glenn Skidmore, 40, of the Charleston area, was arrested by Logan County sheriff's deputies and West Virginia State Police at about 4:30 a.m. in Logan County. Skidmore was wanted on murder and malicious wounding warrants.

The juvenile went to his neighbor's door covered in blood about 7:30 p.m. Monday and said he had been shot multiple times, and that his mother had been shot dead.

The youth was taken to CAMC General Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police said Skidmore is related to the shooting victims, but details of what led to the incident were not available.

RANDOLPH GUNFIRE - West Virginia State Police in Randolph County have arrested a Beverly man at Hampton Inn on a wanton endangerment charge involving a firearm.

State Police said during a 30 minute standoff, troopers heard a sound consistent to that of a "pistol racking" and later a muffled noise of a single gun shot.

Police recovered a pistol from the room and the bullet that traveled through a wall into an unoccupied room.

Matthew Witsoe, 26, is in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $50,000.
