Peter A. Potter, 55 - Speed

Peter A. Potter, 55, of Speed, West Virginia, died Friday, December 26, 2014, at the CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston WV.

He was a former 20+ year employee of Wiseman Construction Co., Charleston and a member of the Laborer's Union, Local 1353, Charleston. He was a well-known and longtime upholsterer. Peter was a Marine Corps veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Denise J. Gandee Potter; two daughters, Laura Marie Hartleroad of Spencer WV and Adrian Beth Potter of Speed; a special granddaughter, Lilly Hartleroad; three sisters, Donna Anderson of Parkersburg WV, Mary Davis of Ravenswood WV and Rebecca Hildreth of Spencer; a brother, Timothy Potter of Sissonville WV; a special aunt, Marge Tanner of Ravenswood.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Vonnie Greathouse Potter; and a brother, Robert L. "Bob" Potter.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Brother Bill Walton and Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial, with military honors accorded by the US Marine Corps, will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville WV. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
