EARLY MORNING FIRE DESTROYS ROWELS RUN RESIDENCE

Fire completely destroyed the residence of John and Tina Hart at the intersection of Rowels Run Road and Hardman Fork Monday morning.

The log cabin dwelling was on the ground when firemen arrived, no one was present.

The Grantsville VFD and Minnie Hamilton EMS responded to the scene at 6:25 a.m.

The fire was reported by a passerby.

In another incident, the Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Department said a fire destroyed a Ritchie County family home at Mountain, Sunday afternoon, leaving a family with six children homeless.

When firefighters arrived they found the residence completely destroyed.

Firefighters said the Smith family also lost three vehicles.

Fire departments had difficulty accessing the residence due to road conditions, and had to utilize four wheel drive apparatus to get access to the home.

Departments from Pennsboro, Ellenboro, Alma, Shirley, Ritchie County EMS, and Ritchie County Office of Emergency Management all responded to the blaze.
