Madelyn W. Marks, 96 - Gandeeville

Madelyn W. Marks, 96, of Gandeeville, West Virginia died December 20, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia.

She was born September 24, 1918 in Walton, West Virginia a daughter of the late George C. and Hattie S. Ellis Walker.

She was a homemaker and worked at a bomber plant in Michigan during World War II. She was a member of Wetzel Chapter # 27, Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed family dinners and get-togethers, friends and cooking. She was a member of the Gandeeville Methodist (now Community) Church.

Madelyn is survived by two sisters, Kate Reynolds of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Jean Porter of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one brother, James "Bert" Walker of Belpre, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and friends; and special friends, Delmas and Sandy Walker, Marletta Hall and Conard Mullins and Carlos and Elaine Ferrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, C. Frank Marks; four sisters, Betty Lou Walker, Ethel Cox, Dorothy Taylor and Emma Lowe; and three brothers, Harold, Edward "Tough", and George "Dick" Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday.
