Charles W. "Bill" Greathouse, 65 - Looneyville

Charles W. "Bill" Greathouse, 65 of Looneyville, West Virginia, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. He was born April 11, 1949 at Looneyville, a son of the late John Raymond and Elsie Fay Jett Greathouse. Bill was a retired maintenance worker with the Roane County Board of Education. He was a Christian and loved farming. He also enjoyed playing country and bluegrass music. He was an accomplished musician with the Rocky Branch Bluegrass Band. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn O. Greathouse, and John R. Greathouse, Jr.; sisters, Betty J. Holland, Doris J. Church, Ruby A. Rogers, Charlotte L. Goodrich, and Carolyn S. Miller. Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pansy Kay Greathouse, and son, Charles Allen Greathouse, both of Looneyville. He also leaves behind two brothers, Edward N. Greathouse of Spencer, and Richard L. Greathouse of Newton; and sister, Cathy D. Wilson of Looneyville. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, at the Nichols Cemetery on Vineyard Ridge, Looneyville, with the Rev. Bill Meadows officiating. There will be no visitation.
