CALHOUN FFA PROPOSES TO GROW SUGAR CANE FOR MOLASSES FESTIVAL

Donald Poage and group supports sugar cane project FFA teacher Donald Poage and group ask for approval for growing sugar cane on school property. A group representing Calhoun's FFA proposed to the school board Monday to use school property to grow cane. FFA teacher Donald Poage said, "We have researched the sugar cane growing, a learning experience for our students." The project has received a $1,000 Resource Development Board grant to West Fork Community Action of Arnoldsburg, a group interested in the project in growing cane for the Molasses Festival.
