PHILLIP SPREE - Police are on the hunt for people behind two separate armed robberies that happened within hours of each other in Philippi.

The first one happened around 7:00 p.m. along Maple Avenue in Phillipi.

Police said three men held a woman at gunpoint, stole a safe and ran away.

About an hour and a half later, a similar crime occurred on North Walnut Street.

In this robbery, three men rang the doorbell to a home and shoved a gun in a person's face. That person was able to disarm the man who was holding the gun.

All three men got away.
